“Finance Company Strategies: Evidence from Corporate Reports” February 14, 2019

Generally, the financial goal of any company is to maximize profits. However, modern tools have become much richer, and the “menu” of financial strategies has expanded. Their manifestation can be observed according to corporate reporting. The generalization of these observations is conveniently processed using cluster analysis. The results show that companies are successfully clustering financial strategies.

The report is devoted to the study of economic data.
The first plot:
– corporate reporting, where and in what form it can be found;
– data quality issues;
– vivid, almost detective stories from corporate life;
– economic and exchange value of companies;
The second plot:
– comparative analysis of GDP;
– anomalies of the dynamics and structure of US GDP;
– structural imbalances that emerge when the long series of data are “glued together”.
