I Competition of Math Teachers of the South of Russia October 20-21

I Competition of Math Teachers of the South of Russia
took place in Maykop on October 20-21. The organizers of the competition were Caucasus Mathematical Center at Adyghe State University, Interregional public organization “Association of Math Teachers,” Moscow Center for Uninterrupted Math Education, Center for Pedagogical Art and Regional School of Natural Sciences and Math.

The main goals and aims of the competition include development of creative skills in math teachers, their professional development and exchange of ideas between math teachers, finding and support of talented math teachers.

The competition consisted of two blocks: methodology and Olympiad. In the methodology part, the participants had to find mistakes in the “solved” problems. In the Olympiad part, the participants had to solve the problems themselves. Participants were given four hours to finish the tasks of both blocks.

Teachers of mathematics of institutions of basic and after school education from the Southern and North Caucasus Federal Districts could participate in this competition. The participation was voluntary, free, and anonymous.

All participants received certificates of participation.

Winners and Awardees:

The winner of competition was Neris Lopes Kosme (Republic of Adygea).

The second place was shared by Nikita Anikeev (Krasnodar territory), Mikhail Gurov (Rostov region), Elena Pashkevich (Republic of Adygea), Nataliya Strebkova (Republic of Adygea), Elena Tsymbal (Krasnodar territory).

The third place was shared by Kyazim Aishaev (Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria), Maria Chumakova (Republic of Adygea), Yulia Kapalkina (Republic of Karachaevo-Cherkessia), Temuri Khubuluri (Republic of North Osetia-Alania), Nelli Margieva (Republic of North Osetia-Alania), Olga Ovsepyants (Republic of Adygea), Artur Sarvarov (Krasnodar region), Tatiana Troitskaya (Republic of Adygea), Alena Yakimenko (Krasnodar region).

Four teachers: Mikhail Gurov (Rostov region), Neris Lopes (Republic of Adygea), Elena Pashkevich (Republic of Adygea), and Elena Tsymbal (Krasnodar region) will teach at the Education Center “Sirius” during the November Math Education Program (November 12-22, 2018).
