Professional Development for Math Teachers of the Southern Russia

On November 11-12, Caucasus Mathematical Center organized professional development courses for math teachers of the Southern Russia. These teachers came from school that have a potential to be a part of the center-school collaboration project. The goal of the course was to train teachers in programs so that they can implement them back in their schools as a part of the collaboration project.

The instructors of the course were head of the laboratory of math and physics of the Polytechnic Museum of Moscow Evgeny Shiryaev and Head of the Laboratory of Popularization and Propaganda of Mathematics at Steklov Institute of Mathematics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, laureate of the 2010 Russian Federation Prize in Science and Innovation for Young Scientists, creator of the project “Mathematical Studies”, laureate of the Gold Medal of the Russian Academy of Sciences for the propaganda of scientific knowledge Nikolay Andreev.

Ten math teachers from four regions of Russia (Republic of Adygea, Karachaevo-Cherkess Republic, Krasnodar and Stavropol regions) went through the course and received certificates of participation.
