News | 10 March 2023

One of the brightest events in the world of mathematics ― the 8th Caucasian Mathematical Olympiad ― finally started on March 9, 2023, hosted by Adyghe State University.

The grand opening was held in a hybrid format in the assembly hall of the university. More than 130 school students from six countries of the world and 22 regions of Russia gathered in Adygea to compete for the first place in the Olympiad. The delegations that could not attend in person watched the opening online via live-stream.

As part of the opening ceremony, Evgeny Lebedev, the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Adygea, said in his welcoming speech: “Don’t be afraid to try new solutions for complex problems, let the jury members rack their brains over the creativity of your works. I hope that this Olympiad will give you only warm and kind memories. Good luck! »

Within the next six days of fruitful work, the participants will get to know famous scientists and science popularizers, as well as learn the traditions and culture of the Republic of Adygea. The students will be able to attend a lot of informative lectures and have a great time at the Adyghe dance club!

We would like to remind you that the recording of the opening ceremony is available in VK in the official community of the Caucasian Mathematical Center of ASU (CMC ASU).
