The V All-Russian Conference on “Mathematical Talent and Mathematical Education” and the III All-Russian Forum for Teachers and Researchers in Mathematics, titled “Gradient,” have commenced at Adyghe State University.
These events will continue until October 26.
The conference and forum are committed to addressing a diverse array of issues in mathematics education, with a focus on identifying and nurturing gifted children, implementing innovative teaching methodologies, promoting the popularization of mathematics, and enhancing the training of mathematics educators.
The organizing institutions include Adyghe State University, Moscow City Pedagogical University, the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, and Tyumen State University.
The event will be attended by approximately 80 scientists and educators representing various scientific and educational institutions across the country. Participants include leading specialists in the field of mathematically gifted students, renowned Russian mathematicians and math advocates, as well as coaches for the Russian national mathematics team. Notable attendees include Academician Alexey Semenov, a member of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Russian Academy of Education, who serves as the Head of the Department of Mathematical Logic and Theory of Algorithms at Lomonosov Moscow State University; Kirill Sukhov, the head coach of the Russian national team for the International School Olympiad in Mathematics; Nikolay Andreev, the Head of the Laboratory for Popularization and Propaganda of Mathematics at the Steklov Mathematical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences; and Ivan Yashchenko, the Director of the Moscow Center for Continuous Mathematical Education.
-The conference “Mathematical Talent and Mathematical Education,” initiated by Adyghe State University in 2018, has emerged as a distinguished platform for dialogue on the advancement of mathematical education and the promotion of mathematics throughout the country. This year’s central theme will focus on the new concept of mathematical education in Russia, currently being developed by Lomonosov Moscow State University in collaboration with our university and the broader expert community in Russia. This foundational document is poised to shape the future landscape of mathematical education in our country for years to come. Our conference serves as a vital forum for engaging with the expert community to explore potential strategies for effective implementation. Additionally, the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in mathematical education will be another significant topic of discussion. We have invited renowned experts from leading scientific and educational institutions who have excelled in this domain over recent years to share their experiences with AI and address the challenges that information technology development presents to our educational system— Prof. Daud Mamiy, Rector of Adyghe State University.
Within the context of the scientific forum, participants will engage in discussions on several critical topics, including the popularization of mathematics, enhancement of the quality of professional training for educators working with gifted children, and the development of regional models and organizational frameworks for identifying and supporting mathematically gifted youth. Additionally, the forum will address the unique aspects of mathematical instruction and the cultivation of creative potential in students within specialized classes and schools. There will also be a focus on research and project activities related to the field of mathematical education. Notably, significant attention will be dedicated to the challenges and opportunities presented by mathematical education in the era of artificial intelligence.
The All-Russian Conference titled “Mathematical Talent and Mathematical Education” has been hosted by Adyghe State University since 2018. This conference brings together scientists and researchers specializing in the pedagogy and psychology of mathematical giftedness, experts in advanced mathematics instruction for gifted students, prominent mathematics advocates, and specialists in the application of information and distance learning technologies for enhancing mathematics education. Attendees include educators, teachers, postgraduate students, master’s students, and undergraduates.
The All-Russian Forum for Educators and Researchers in the Field of Mathematics, titled “Gradient,” is being organized by Moscow City Pedagogical University in collaboration with Adyghe State University and Tyumen State University. This marks the inaugural instance of the “Gradient” forum being hosted in Adygea, where it will adopt the theme “Living Mathematics.” In addition to plenary and sectional sessions, the forum will feature two days of project-based activities for participants, culminating in presentations showcasing the outcomes of the collaborative work conducted by the groups.
