Lectures in the series “Polyhedron” and “Cake-cutting Problem”

May 3-5, two instructors from Moscow taught two mini-courses at the Caucasus Mathematical Center. Alexei Vladimirovich Savvateev (rector of Dmitry Pozharsky’s University) gave three lectures in the series “Polyhedron.” He covered the following questions:

1) What’s the structure of a football?
2) What kinds of polyhedron are there if each of its faces borders each other on the edge?
3) What kinds of the platonic solid are there?

Daniil Vladimirovich Musatov (Moscow Physics and Technology Institute) read a series of lectures “Cake-cutting Problem” and gave an overview of the methods of division and the notion of fair division.
