Kirnos’s Lecture

News | 8 May 2018

On May 8, Caucasus Mathematical Center invited Yuri Kirnos to read a lecture “Mathematical Methods, Principles, and Technologies of Finding Objects in the Sea. Military and Civil Aspects of the Problem.”

Currently, Yuri works as a deputy primary constructor of the Design Bureau “Ametist” and supplies programming and mathematical support. Yuri also works as a head of the Department for the Development of Programming Support for “Helicopter Avionics.”

During his lecture, Yuri talked about how the developer of artillery-type weapons for military ships can mathematically calculate the fail-free work of the cannon in the sea. In such conditions, the developer needs to take into consideration the movability of all objects during the military action: the ship itself, the target, and the sea. With the help of a computation program, the developer calculates how to point and shoot at target precisely.

About one hundred students and instructors of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, Faculty of Engineering and Physics, Maykop State College of Humanities and Technology at Adyghe State University, Regional School of Science and Mathematics. After the lecture, the audience could ask Yuri Kirns questions about his work.
